Fans of the Castlevania series be warned, this is not a Castlevania game! This is just another Mortal Combat rip-off. The characters are designed to slightly resemble those from the Castlevania series.
If you are looking for a Castlevania game, you will be sorely disappointed, as I was.

Some things are just better off being left in 2-D. Anyone familiar with the Castlevania series at all knows this to be fact, as Konami’s attempts to bring the long running series to the realm of 3-D have just fallen flat. Now we get a Castlevania fighting game (don’t ask why) with Castlevania Judgment for the Wii, which even though it says it’s a Castlevania game, is really a generic fighting game with little personality to it to seperate it from the rest of the pack. There’s a decent roster of fighters that Castlevania fans will recognize, such as Simon Belmont, Alucard, and even Dracula; but there isn’t much variation or real differences between most of the fighters. The fighting system appears to offer some depth, but it really isn’t anything you haven’t seen countless times before. The game doesn’t look too bad though, and there is some great music as well, but there just isn’t enough here that helps the game stand out on its own. All in all, Wii owners who are Castlevania fans and/or fighting game fans may want to give Castlevania Judgment a look, but other than that, your time is better off served elsewhere.
This is actually a Christmas present but what I can say is that this product came very quicky. I would definetly order from them again.
I wasn’t sure about this game at first due to the needless mangay re-drawings of classic characters like Trevor Belmont, Simon, grant and others. The controls are great, the weapons are great, the super abilities and finishers are very well done and impressive to watch. All the classic music from the nes castlevainia games is present and remastered but still stays true to the classic sound. The stages are great, the stage hazards are nice and other than characters now looking like gay manga characters, the character selection is quite good.
