It's larger, and it looks and feels less like a toy. The buttons are responsive, and the strum bar is larger and quieter. <br /> <br />The whammy bar is longer, which in my opinion is not necessarily better. Plus, the bar tends to rotate down while I'm playing. The star power button is a waste. Is there anyone out there who uses this button instead of tilting the guitar upwards? <br /> <br />The touch pad is more difficult than using just the buttons and doesn't seem to add to the playing experience. Nobody uses the touch pad when we play, and I've written it off as technology for technology's sake. After about a week it started acting up and one of the slider buttons was playing itself occasionally. If I disabled the slider in the game the problem went away. I contacted Red Octane about the problem. I had to pay to ship just the neck to them, but then they shipped me a full new guitar (now I have a spare body just in case). Other than that little problem (which Red Octane handled very well) it's great. No different than the one I got with the game. Unfortunately though the strum bar is going bad after less than a year of very moderate play. Looking online I see that I am not alone. I found fixes that require sodering in new sensors, which I will probably give a try. Oh well, hope yours lasts longer than mine! Don’t get me wrong..I really like this controller.
